Link Microtek has today announced that they are now able to offer customers an accredited calibration service for instruments measuring electric field strength. Following the recent accreditation by DAkkS, the Narda accreditation covers frequencies ranging from 9kHz to 18GHz and electric field strengths from 2V/m to 300V/m.

Particularly relevant to measurements that are carried out for the purpose of ensuring human safety,  the Narda accreditation confirms that the laboratory meets the ‘general requirements of competence for test and calibration laboratories’ as set out in EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The calibration method itself is described in IEEE Std 1309-2005, which is the globally recognised standard for calibration of electromagnetic field sensors and probes.

Each instrument is supplied with an accredited calibration certificate providing the customer with details of the measured values and their associated measurement uncertainties, as well as additional information about the calibration that has been performed. This certificate is recognised worldwide by all the institutions listed by ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) in its Mutual Recognition Arrangement.

Non-accredited calibration continues to be available from Link Microtek’s own in-house laboratory in Basingstoke, which offers a fast-turnaround calibration and repair service on all types of Narda personal monitors, survey meters and probes.
