The LTE-Advanced RF Conformance Test System ME7873LA from Anritsu has obtained the world's first PTCRB certification as a RF conformance test system for the Three Downlink Carrier Aggregation (3DL CA) technology used mainly by the LTE-Advanced standard.  The ME7873L, the world’s first GCF-validated RF test platform, is used for testing the RF TRX characteristics and performance of LTE/LTE-Advanced terminals to satisfy the 3GPP requirements.

With the PTCRB certification, the ME7873LA now also supports 3DL CA tests defined in 3GPP Release 10supporting LTE-Advanced terminals operating on North American frequency bands.

North American LTE-Advanced terminals must be tested objectively using PTCRB- certified RF conformance test systems to assure that the terminal quality satisfies the 3GPP standards. Moving forward this will then have implications for European chipset/UE vendors who supply to these North American operators.

By obtaining PTCRB certification for 3DL CA, the ME7873LA will help cut the time to market (TTM) for new products using 3DL CA services expected to start in North America in 2015.

With conformance testing becoming more important in assuring mobile terminals meet 3GPP standards, Anritsu is focusing its efforts on the development of LTE-Advanced conformance test systems to both achieve this and promote further progress and growth in future mobile broadband services.
