productronica: Cloud clears way to IC testing
Advantest has brought cloud computing technology to the test arena. At productronica the company launched the CloudTesting Service (CTS) aimed at design verification engineers, fabless companies, educational and research institutes with limited resources and distributors. IC prototype testing, debugging and troubleshooting are all covered by the new service.
u-blox and CalAmp enter Brazilian telematics market
u-blox has revealed that CalAmp has selected u-blox as GPS receiver and cellular modem supplier for their new line of vehicle tracking, anti-theft and insurance telematics devices. This new line of telematics has been designed especially for the Brazilian market as Brazilian government legislation will require stolen-vehicle tracking units in new cars and trucks starting in 2014.

productronica: 30A power switch added to TSVP test system
Rohde & Schwarz introduced a configurable power switching module at productronica that is fully integrated into the PXI-based R&S TSVP test system. It replaces auxiliary switching devices and is suitable for loads up to 30 A. It integrates the switching of high-current DUTs into the test and measurement company’s TSVP base unit.
productronica: Software enhances X-ray inspection
The productronica exhibition in Munich was the launch pad for GE Measurement & Control’s phoenix x|act, a powerful software package for manual as well as automated X-ray inspection. The new software improves X-ray inspection performance and offers fast CAD-based programming.
productronica: Wireless test set covers multiple formats
At productronica today Agilent Technologies strengthened its position in the wireless test set market with the launch of the E6640A. The new instrument can test up to 32 cellular and wireless-connectivity devices in parallel. It enables manufacturers the speed, accuracy and multi-port density to ramp up rapidly and optimise full-volume manufacturing.
productronica: Switch matrix offers network analysis up to 48 ports
Rohde & Schwarz used the productronica exhibition in Munich to debut the R&S ZN-Z84, an external switch matrix designed to complement the company’s ZNB network analyser. The matrix covers the frequency range from 10 MHz to 8.5 GHz, and the base model is equipped with six test ports.

High definition scopes with 200MHz to 1GHz bandwidth
The HDO4000-MS and HDO6000-MS high definition oscilloscopes from Teledyne LeCroy combine 16 channels of flexible mixed signal capabilities with HD4096 high definition technology, long memory, and a compact form factor, in bandwidths from 200MHz to 1GHz. All HDO models sport a large 12.1in. touch-screen display and intuitive interface to enhance operation.
All aboard: Passport-sized scope offers 200MHz bandwidth
A passport sized, 19m thick series of oscilloscopes from Pico Technology offer bandwidths up to 200MHz and an arbitrary waveform generator. ThePicoScope 2000 series instruments are connected to and powered from a USB port and are almost 80% smaller than the previous generation of PicoScopes.
