A water level transducer suitable for harsh environments, has been introduced by Measurement Specialities. The battery-powered TruBlue 255 can collect up to half a million time stamped pressure and temperature data points with its standard 8MB of internal memory and 3.7m data points with its optional 56MB of internal memory.

Equipped with a low power microcomputer, the level transducer can log depth (level) and temperature for up to ten years, without the need for a terminal box. Available in level ranges of 5-200m, with a resolution of 0.01% FS, the TruBlue 255 provides a level accuracy of ±0.05% FS TEB from 0 to +50°C, with less than 1cm of vertical accuracy error on up to 10m (30ft) of water.

The transducer comes with TruWare software which retrieves 1,500 points per second and converts it to an accurate water level reading that is fully compensated for barometric pressure, temperature and water density.

To fit user requirements the TruBlue 255 features two cabling options: an absolute communication cable or a USB-to-backshell communication cable.

Constructed of welded 316 stainless steel or titanium, the fully-sealed level transducer withstands the harsh agents found in a wide range of freshwater and salt water applications. These include aquifer characterisation, slug and pump tests, groundwater monitoring, as well as stream and stage gauging. The TruBlue 255 can also provide accurate measurement in flood and storm management, tide and harbour gauging and rapid sampling wave studies.

Included with each transducer is a 48-point calibration report and a two-year warranty.
