The popular TSOP36... series of miniature surface-mount IR receivers has been upgraded by Vishay. Designed for infared (IR) remote control applications in consumer products, the TSOP36... series now offers a 20% improvement in sensitivity over previous generation devices, a minimum irradiance of 0.12 mW/m², and incorporates an improved optical filter against IR 3D TV signals and other noise.

Featuring a new-generation integrated circuit, the devices are offered in five automatic gain control (AGC) versions for short and long burst codes. The TSOP361.. and TSOP362.. provide legacy compatibility with all common IR remote control data formats. The TSOP363.. and TSOP364.. are recommended for all remote control applications and suppress spurious pulses from energy-saving lamps and dimmed LCD backlighting, while the TSOP365.. is capable of suppressing even extreme levels of optical noise.

Optimised for consumer products such as TVs and digital cameras, the TSOP36... series IR receivers has been upgraded to provide an improved resistance to ESD and metal shielding against EMI. Tthe devices offer a photo detector and preamplifier circuit mounted within a 4-pin epoxy package, simplying design. The devices are insensitive to supply voltage and ripple noise, and are available with taping for top- or side-view use.

The IR receivers are specified for operation from 2.5 V to 5.5 V with a transmission range up to 45 meters, are available for carrier frequencies from 30 kHz to 56 kHz, and offer a low 0.35 mA supply current at 3.3 V. The devices are RoHS-compliant and conform to Vishay "Green" standards.
