Measuring angular velocity in high shock and vibration test environments can be challenging. The miniature ARS PRO angular rate sensor by DTS is designed to capture precision angular rate data in high energy environments like crash and blast testing. The silicon-based MEMS resonating gyro is packaged in a rugged aluminium enclosure, weighs only 2.2g and can be positioned near the point of interest without altering test dynamics.

Featuring DC response, shunt check capabilities and high output voltage, the single axis sensor delivers reliability and repeatability with every test.

All models comply with SAE and ISO recommended practises. DTS offers full-scale ranges from ±300 to ±50,000 deg/sec and bandwidths up to 2,000Hz, fully supporting CFC 180 and 1000 testing requirements.

The ARS HG is shock rated to 10,000g, the highest in the industry. Reinforced mounting points are engineered to withstand high energy test environments, making the ARS PRO and ARS HG ideal for injury biomechanics, high-rate ballistics, vehicle handling and safety testing. Angular rate sensors can also be used for industrial applications like measuring speed on rotating machinery.

A triaxial model (ARS3 PRO) as well as a compact six degrees of freedom package (6DX PRO) are also available.
