Point Grey Launches 1 Megapixel 70 FPS CCD FireWire Camera

Point Grey Launches 1 Megapixel 70 FPS CCD FireWire Camera
Point Grey today announced the launch of its new Grasshopper Express GX-FW series of IEEE 1394b (FireWire-b) digital cameras. The Grasshopper Express camera series is housed in the same compact housing as the original Grasshopper, but offers a host of new features and a new hardware architecture designed to accommodate a wide range of high speed quad-tap image sensors. The first available model, the GX-FW-10K3M-C, uses a monochrome version of the Kodak KAI-01050 1 megapixel 1/2-inch CCD image sensor. The KAI-01050 sensor features broad dynamic range, low smear, and a 4-output readout architecture that allows the camera to generate 1024 x 1024 pixel images at up to 70 FPS.

Digital differential pressure sensors with very low measurement ranges

Digital differential pressure sensors with very low measurement ranges
Sensirion has recently launched two new versions of its differential pressure sensors with-in the SDP600 series. The new sensors SDP6x0-125Pa and SDP6x0-25Pa feature par-ticularly low measurement ranges of -125 to +125 Pa and -25 to +25 Pa, respectively. Due to their better resolution, the new products have improved zero point accuracy of 0.1 Pa. In addition, zero point repeatability reaches a remarkable 0.05 Pa for the 125Pa ver-sion and 0.03 Pa for the 25Pa version. The new differential pressure sensors are excel-lent solutions for many applications in medical and HVAC markets where high accuracy measurements of particularly low differential pressure are required.

Murata expands range of AMR sensors to include horizontal and vertical sensing

Murata expands range of AMR sensors to include horizontal and vertical sensing
Murata has announced the launch of the AS-M and AS-V series of anisotropic magneto resistance (AMR) sensors. This detection technique provides a non-contact magnetic sensor of high sensitivity for use in a relatively low magnetic field. These extremely small devices, the smallest measuring just 1.2 x 1.2 x 0.37 mm, can detect a magnetic field in either a horizontal or vertical direction. Compared to traditional magnetic switch components, such as a reed switch or Hall effect IC, AMR sensors have higher detection sensitivity, are more robust and offer a wider detection area.

Melexis integrated MEMs sensors handle more than just pressure

Melexis integrated MEMs sensors handle more than just pressure
The MLX90807 and MLX90808 fully integrated, relative and absolute pressure sensor die are realized with CMOS technology combined with MEMS bulk micromachining. These monolithic solutions are both fully automotive qualified. Each consists of a silicon membrane with piezoresistors to transform the stress induced by pressure into an electrical signal. An analog signal chain interacting with a digital core, including programmable memory, allows full calibration on chip in order to achieve an optimized transfer function over the desired working pressure and temperature range.
