Lattice and Flexibilis announce first FPGA ethernet switch IP cores with HSR (IEC 62439-3) protocol support
Lattice Semiconductor and Flexibilis Oy today announced the immediate availability of the Flexibilis Ethernet Switch (FES) IP core. The triple speed (10Mbps/100Mbps/1Gbps) FES IP cores operate on Ethernet Layer 2 and can switch with gigabit forwarding capacity per port. Data forwarding and classification inside the switch is based on MAC address information in the packets and the prioritization scheme.
Lattice ships first samples of LatticeECP4 FPGAS
Lattice Semiconductor Corporation today announced that it has begun shipping the highest density member of its next generation LatticeECP4 FPGA family to select customers. The new LatticeECP4 FPGA family offers the richest portfolio of low cost, low power mid-range devices under 200K LUTs, with high performance innovations such as 6G SERDES in low cost packages, powerful DSP blocks and built-in hard IP-based communication blocks.
Scientists at the University of Glasgow develop the World’s smallest diamond transistor
At just 50 nanometres in length the ‘gate’ of the diamond transistor developed by Dr David Moran, of the Department of Electronics & Electrical Engineering, is more than 1000 times smaller than the thickness of a human hair, and is half the size of the previous smallest diamond transistor developed by Japanese firm NTT.
austriamicrosystems introduces the world’s first Lightning Sensor IC targeting low power, portable applications
austriamicrosystems today introduced the world’s first lightning sensor IC, the AS3935 Franklin Lightning Sensor with an embedded intelligent algorithm. Named after American innovator, Benjamin Franklin, the austriamicrosystems’ low power lightning sensor provides people with advanced warning of approaching electrical storms giving them additional time to take shelter.
NanoKTN Helps V-SMMART Nano EU Project Secure €3.1m for Product Development
The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network has helped secure €3.1 million of funding for V-SMMART Nano, an EU funded programme. The funding, which comes from the FP7-NMP call, will support development of the Volumetric Scanning Microwave Microscope (VSMM), for non-destructive 3D nanoscale structural characterisation of samples.
Barix Strengthens Audio Over IP Transport Options for Broadcasters
Barix AG, a pioneer in IP-based audio, intercom, control, and monitoring, continues to innovate for the radio broadcast industry. The company will showcase its latest hardware and device firmware at IBC 2010 (Booth 8.B16, RAI Exhibition Center, Amsterdam, September 10-14), giving broadcasters more options in the way they use Barix for delivery of program audio between studios and transmission points.
First TD-LTE Measurement Suite for Handheld Analyzers Introduced by Anritsu Company
Anritsu Company introduces the first measurement suite for handheld analyzers that measures the RF, modulation, and Over-the-Air (OTA) parameters of TD-LTE eNodeB radio transmitters. Designed for use with Anritsu’s industry leading MT822xB BTS Master™ and MS272xC Spectrum Master™ families, the measurement suite provides carriers, network equipment manufacturers, third-party contractors, and installers involved in the deployment of LTE netwo...
Curved Finite Elements now also for the Eigenmode Solver
Computer Simulation Technology (CST) announces the introduction of a finite element based eigenmode solver in CST MICROWAVE STUDIO version 2011 SP3, at IMS 2011 booth #1423. The computation of eigenmodes is essential for the accurate design of resonant structures, such as cavities, filters or particle accelerators.
CST Launch new PCB Analyser - CST BOARDCHECK
CST has today announced the launch of a new product that analyzes PCBs with respect to EMC and SI related design rules. Design engineers dealing with electromagnetic compatibility and signal integrity of PCBs, can now employ CST BOARDCHECK to get a quick overview of potential problems in their layout.
CST Announces Significant New Functionality for CST MICROWAVE STUDIO Frequency Domain Solver in Version 2011
CST announces curved elements and domain decomposition will be available in the CST MICROWAVE STUDIO frequency domain solver in the next major release at MTT-S IMS 2010.
