LAVA Computer's latest addition supports diagnostics of serial devices such as PLCs, ECRs (Electronic Cash Registers), and other RS-232 equipment. Providing a bi-directional 'pass-through' data route between two serial devices, the LAVA DataTap-IP taps into serial data streams to port this data over IP, and additionally to a remote server, client, or COM port.
In telecommunications, the LAVA DataTap-IP enables PBX serial ports so end-users can tap into, monitor, and collect call information and additionally port the data to a printer or other application.

Bi–directional communications from remote users can be established to serial devices directly connected to the LAVA DataTap-IP’s Input or Output Ports. Since these serial ports are enumerated as local COM ports by LAVA Device Manager software, the remote user can open these COM ports locally to communicate to their serial devices out in the field.

Featuring dual RS-232 serial ports, easy web browser configuration, and transparent pass-through operations, the LAVA DataTap-IP is compatible with RS-232 peripheral devices.
