Sensor module brings all-in-one solution for wearables
In stock now at Mouser Electronics is the new OB1203 sensor module from Renesas Electronics.
Combining a biosensor, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and colour sensor in an all-in-one solution, the OB1203 sensor module offers a highly integrated solution for mobile and wearable devices.
It is suitable for applications including headphones, gesture detection, occupancy sensors, and fitness and wellness trackers.
The module provides non-invasive measurement of blood oxygen concentration, heart rate, and pulse oximetry. The module features an anti-allergenic glass covers, allowing it to be used in health applications requiring direct skin contact.
Beyond wearable devices, the sensor module is capable of determining the proximity of nearby objects by integrating light sources and drivers into a single optically optimised package.
Its biosensor offers oxygen saturation (SpO2) measurement behind visibly dark IR transmissive ink, providing a useful solution for aesthetic industrial designs. The module is housed in a minuscule, optically enhanced 4.2 mm × 2 mm × 1.2 mm package.
Support comes in the shape of the OB1203SD evaluation kits, available in either a USB or Bluetooth communication-enabled version.
The USB version includes a USB communication board, USB stick with onboard graphical user interface (GUI), and a USB cable.
The Bluetooth-enabled evaluation kit integrates a Bluetooth chip and removable battery.
