Supplier of in the field sensor systems, First Sensor has announced its new piezoresistive low differential pressure sensors of the HTD series with measuring ranges from 1 mbar to 7 bar. The small and flat sensors with a footprint of only 8x13mm and a height of less than 7mm are suitable for space-saving manifold assemblies. The HTD differential pressure sensors feature digital signal processing with 15-bit resolution and an SPI interface as well as an analogue output signal.

The high accuracy and long term stable sensors with 3.3 or 5V supply are suitable for battery-powered applications in mobile and portable devices.

In manifold modules, the SMD miniature sensors allow a compact arrangement without the elaborate and error-prone tubing of individual components.

For pick-and-place machines in high volume production, the HTD sensors can optionally be supplied on tape and reel.

Additional output signals such as I²C bus, 1-wire, alarm outputs or pulse width modulation are available on request. The sensors are temperature compensated from 0-70°C and provide a temperature reading in addition to the pressure value.

Important features of the HTD differential pressure sensors:

  • Pressure ranges from 1 mbar to 7 bar
  • Footprint 8 x 13 mm, height <7mm
  • Ideal for manifold mounting
  • SPI interface with 15 bit resolution

Typical applications of the HTD sensors can be found in medical devices (ventilators, anesthesia machines, CPAP, spirometers, oxygen concentrators), HVAC (volumetric flow controllers, filter monitoring, burner control), instrumentation as well as industrial and pneumatic controls.
