Designer and manufacturer of high-performance position measurement systems, the Measuring Division of Kaman Precision Products will highlight its new eddy current measurement system, the Digital DIT, at the 32nd American Society of Precision Engineering (ASPE) Annual Meeting, to be held 29th October to 3rd November 2017 at the Westin Charlotte, Charlotte, North Carolina. Also on display is Kaman’s range of non-contact high precision eddy current sensors.

Applications experts will showcase and demonstrate the Digital DIT, a differential measuring system designed to provide a digital interface for high precision eddy current measurement, with resolution in the nano-meter range, at bandwidths as high as 60kHz.

Typical applications include fast steering mirror (FSM) position feedback, adaptive optics, image stabilisation, magnetic bearing active control, and high speed shaft or spindle runout or deflection.

Each system is configured for optimum performance in the customer’s specific application. The Digital DIT is available in dual or single channel configurations. System output can be analogue voltage, SPI, or 24 bit ADC interface. The Digital DIT is the newest addition to Kaman’s differential series products, the mil-spec KD5100 and commercial DIT5200L.

Also on display will be the high precision SMT9700 OEM system and general purpose KD2306 displacement measuring systems. Those not already attending the ASPE Annual Meeting can contact Kaman for a free pass to the Exhibition Hall.
