Small sensors utilise Wirepas Connectivity
Haltian’s IoT platform expanded with small sensors. Consisting of the Thingsee gateway, the platform also entails the Thingsee POD and TAG sensors. The sensors can be used for tracking and monitoring assets, goods and people in a completely new, and a far more cost-effective manner. The Thingsee router delivers the data collected from the sensors directly to the client’s back-end systems via a mobile connection.
Low pressure sensors boast overall accuracy of 1.5%
The recently extended NPA product line of low pressure surface-mount sensors from Amphenol Advanced Sensors is available at distributor TTI Europe. Utilising the field-proven and popular NPA packaging platform, the NPA product line now covers the very low pressure ranges of 2” H2O (500Pa) and 5” H2O (1250Pa).
Sensor cube determines water quality with SAC measurement
To determine the quantity of dissolved organic compounds in a water sample, the spectral absorption coefficient (SAC) is measured at 254 nm. In order to integrate this important parameter of water in analysis in its online analysis system Bürkert has miniaturised the measuring principle and integrated it in a sensor cube.
Sensor measures chemistry on chip
By combining expertise in photonics - manipulating light beams in nanoscale waveguides on a chip – and materials science, Cornell researchers have laid the groundwork for a chemical sensor on a chip that could be used in small portable devices to analyse samples in a lab, monitor air and water quality in the field and perhaps even detect explosives.
Safe summer towing for caravans
Towing a caravan properly and safely is extremely important, especially this summer when there will be a large number of caravans being towed on the road. TyrePal has partnered with one of the UK's leading touring caravan brands, Bailey of Bristol to promote the importance of safe towing. The caravan manufacturer will produce its latest ranges, the Unicorn and Pegasus, with TyrePal tyre pressure monitoring sensors fitted inside the wheels.
Bimetal thermometer withstands temperatures down to -70°C
WIKA has extended the range of its model 55 bimetal thermometer - this proven measuring instrument is now available in a version that can withstand ambient temperatures down to -70 °C. Following the PG23LT pressure gauge, WIKA now also has a mechanical temperature measuring instrument available for operation in extreme cold.
Pressure transmitter is suitable for level measurements on small tanks
The A-10 pressure transmitter from WIKA is now also available with the smallest of pressure ranges from 0-50mbar to 0-600mbar. The wetted parts in this variant are all welded and from stainless steel. The new mbar pressure ranges are particularly suitable for level measurements on small tanks in stationary and mobile applications. A further field of application is all types of gas measurement.
Precision digital pressure gauge offers enhanced performance spectrum
Extended measuring ranges, large data logger, wireless functionality and streamlined menu operation: With the model CPG1500, WIKA has launched an improved precision digital pressure gauge with an appealing price/performance ratio. The CPG1500 calibration and test instrument has been designed for versatile use.
Sensor helps anaesthetists accurately guide needles
Over 13 million pain-blocking epidurals are performed every year in the United States and, although generally regarded as safe, there are complications in up to 10% of cases where the needles are inserted too far or placed in the wrong tissue. Researchers from MIT and Massachusetts General Hospital hope to improve this statistic with a new sensor that can be embedded into an epidural needle, helping anaesthetists guide the needle to the correct l...
Mentoring aid driver app to improve safety
A contract has been won by GreenRoad Technologies to install its innovative driver behaviour and fleet management in-vehicle solution within Bristow & Sutor’s 155 strong fleet of cars and vans.
