Reducing switching losses and power dissipation in automotive and telecomms applications, the AEC-Q101-qualified VS-1EFH01WHM3, VS-1EFH01W-M3, VS-1EFH02W-M3 and VS-1EFH02WHM3 rectifiers have been unveiled by Vishay. The 1A FRED Pt Ultrafast recovery rectifiers feature extremely fast and soft recovery characteristics with low leakage current and low forward voltage drop.

Designed for DC/DC converters in automotive ECUs, ABS and LED lighting, as well as telecomms DC/DC bricks, the rectifiers feature reverse recovery times of 25ns and forward voltage drop of 0.93V. The VS-1EFH01WHM3 and VS-1EFH01W-M3 offer reverse voltages of 100V and the VS-1EFH02W-M3 and VS-1EFH02WHM3 200V.

Operating to a maximum temperature of +175°C, the rectifiers feature a planar structure and platinum doped lifetime control ensuring high overall performance, ruggedness and reliability characteristics. Suited for automated placement, the devices allow for AOI in automotive systems.

Supplied in a compact SMF package with low profiles of less than 1mm, the devices save significant PCB space while increasing power density to lower overall costs, compared with standard SMA, SMB and SMC packages. The RoHS-compliant and halogen-free rectifiers provide an MSL moisture level of 1 per J-STD-020 and LF maximum peak of +260°C and meet the JESD 201 Class 2 whisker test.

The VS-1EFH01WHM3, VS-1EFH01W-M3, VS-1EFH02W-M3 and VS-1EFH02WHM3 FRED Pt rectifiers are available now for sampling and in production quantities, with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders.
