SynQor has developed a new line of PowerQor Mega series, sixteenth-brick dc-dc converters. The PQ60xxxSMx series of dc-dc converters is an efficient yet economical power solution composed of next-generation, board-mountable, isolated, fixed switching frequency dc-dc converters which are particularly useful for telecom and other low power applications.
PQ60xxxSMx converters use synchronous rectification to achieve extremely high power conversion efficiencies up to 88%, require no minimum load and deliver up to 50W of power with minimal derating.

To accommodate a broad spectrum of applications, the highly versatile PQ60xxxSMx series is available in three configurations, including open frame (SMA), open frame low profile (SML), and encased (SMC), all with identical industry standard pin-outs. Technical advances have resulted in a cost reduction of up to 26% compared with previously available sixteenth-brick power solutions.

PQ60xxxSMx series dc-dc converters are available in a single-output configuration, and will accept a wide range of input voltages from 35V to 75V. Eight module versions are offered with outputs ranging from 1.2V to 15V, including 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, 5.0V, 12V and 15V. Power and current levels are available ranging from 30-50W and 3-25A, respectively. All parts are capable of withstanding input transients up to 100V for 100ms. The device has a broad operating temperature range of -40° to +100°C, and is fully RoHS 6/6 compliant.

The feature-rich PQ60xxxSMx series includes on/off control referenced to input side, output voltage trim, remote sense, clock synchronization, continuous short-circuit protection and input under-voltage lockout. Safety features include 2250V input to output isolation, and compliance with a host of specifications, including UL 60950-1:2003, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60950-1:2003, EN60950-1:2001, Needle Flame Test (IEC 695-2-2), and IEC 61000-4-2.
