Plugable has launched a USB-C Mini Docking Station called The Cube. At just 2.5x2.3x1.4", according to the company, The Cube is the smallest docking station on the market. Compatible with Mac and Windows laptops and tablets with Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C ports, The Cube includes one HDMI, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, and Gigabit Ethernet for expanded connectivity. The docking station helps users increase functionality, usability and flexibility of supported supported USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 systems.

A convenient travel companion
The Cube is designed for laptop and Windows tablet users. Its small, minimalist design helps save valuable deskspace and makes it great for professionals on-the-go. The sleek and lightweight design of The Cube makes it well suited for travel, quick setup at conferences or easy connectivity in the meeting room.

Small but powerful mini dock
The Cube is smaller than most cellphones and can saving valuable deskspace by eliminating clutter. With The Cube, Plugable helps users streamline their workspaces and become more efficient and productive by getting their ports back in a compact and convenient dock.

Wide ranging multi-connectivity
The Cube provides users the ability to connect a single 4K HDMI display, three USB ports for connecting peripherals such as a keyboard and mouse, a wired gigabit Ethernet connection, all through a single USB-C cable.

The HDMI port on The Cube is powered through USB-C Alternate Mode (Alt Mode), which allows for native level display performance up to the host system's graphics capabilities. The Cube is self-powered to function with or without its power brick. This makes it functional both on the desk and optionally on the road. Note that in exchange for this flexibility, The Cube will not charge your laptop and is not for laptops like the basic 12” MacBook that only have a single USB-C port for both power and peripherals.
