Designed to enhance noise tolerance and negate interference from in-car mobile phone use, a 45W per channel power amplifier IC has been introduced by Toshiba Electronics Europe. The four-channel TCB001HQ provides increased reliability with a newly developed filter circuit and reinforced protection circuits, including thermal overvoltage, output to VCC, output to GND and output to output protection.

Stopped vehicles which are fitted with engine idling reduction technology can suffer significant drops in battery output voltage. This can be very detrimental to the sound quality and clarity of in-car entertainment systems.

A minimum operating voltage of just 6V and built-in mute and standby functions help to maintain battery charge, while mobile phone interference protection enables a superior in-car listening experience. The TCB001HQ's low operating voltage also offers more stable operation, prevents loss of sound and reduces noise disturbance.

Samples of the TCB001HQ power amplifier IC are available now, with full production scheduled to commence in March.
