Announced by MicroPower Direct, the MPM-02SV, available immediately, is a family of miniature, 2W AC/DC power modules. These low cost supplies are specifically designed to provide the small size, robust performance, long term reliability and safety approvals required for a variety of industrial applications where space is limited.

Six standard models operate from a wide universal input of 85VAC to 305VAC; providing regulated single outputs of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, or 24VDC. They may also be used in high voltage DC/DC applications with an input of 120 to 430VDC. Standard features include tight line/load regulation

continuous short circuit & over voltage protection, and an I/O isolation of 4,000 VAC. All models are approved to EN 62368 and meet the requirements of EN 55032 class B.

The MPM-02SV has a reinforced Class II input. This means it can be used without a connection to an earth ground, an advantage for equipment that’s used in applications where a reliable ground may not be available. The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the MPM-02SV series is greater than 300khours. The series is RoHS compliant.

The MPM-02SV series is packaged in a compact potted module. Each model is specified for operation over the wide operating temperature range of -40 to +70°C (ambient). These units are an ideal solution for a wide variety of space critical board level applications in industrial & commercial equipment applications requiring high performance, miniature size and low cost. With its Class II input, the MPM-02SV series is a good choice for remote or portable equipment where a reliable ground is often not available.

All MicroPower Direct products are designed to provide long, reliable field life. Considerable attention is given to the proper selection, derating, and layout of all circuit components. In addition, extensive reliability screening is also performed on all modules as a routine part of the production process.
