The new 90W TAM90 series of low cost, low profile medical grade AC/DC desktop power adapters has been added to TRUMPower’s product line-up. The TAM90 Class I units come with an IEC 320/C14 AC inlet, while measuring in at a height of only 1.12”. The power adapters are available with single 12, 15, 19, 24V output voltages, making them suitable for a wide range of applications. The power supplies are equipped with a 4 pin DIN connector as the standard but TRUMPower does offer additional connector and cable options when requested.

The TAM90 series is approved by UL/cUL and TUV to the latest medical standards, including IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 Edition 3.1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1: 2012, CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1: 2014. The power adapter complies with IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition medical EMC and immunity standards including EN 55011/FCC/VCCI class B (conducted and radiated emissions), EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, EN 61000-4-2 (ESD at ±15kV air and ±8kV contact), EN 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-8, EN 61000-4-11.

With efficiency of 88% minimum @ full load, the TAM90 series satisfies DOE & Energy Star level VI and ErP stage II requirements. It carries CE marking and is RoHS compliant. Packaged in a low profile black-colored plastic enclosure with LED power indicator, the unit has a size of 5.71x2.80x1.12”.

The2 MOPP ratedpower adapter accepts a 90-264VAC continuous input range and has a typical power factor of 0.98. Withstand voltage is specified at 4,000VAC from input to output (2 x MOPP) and 1,500VAC from input to ground (1 x MOPP).

Relative humidity spans from 5%-95% non-condensing and the operating altitude is specified at a maximum of 5000m. With earth leakage current being lower than 250µA @ 264 VAC, the TAM90 power adapter can operate at an ambient temperature range of 0-60°C. Its MTBF is higher than 100,000 hours at full load and 25°C ambient, calculated per MIL-HDBK-217F. The power supply is fully protected against over voltage, over temperature, over current, and short circuit conditions.
