Murata Power Solutions has added a new series of cost-effective eighth-brick DC/DC Converters to its existing range of brick converter products. The fully isolated (2250VDC) UCE series is available with fixed output voltages from 1.5V to 12V, output current to 40A and output power up to 100W.
UCE series DC/DC Converters have a high-density, open-frame design that uses an interleaved synchronous rectifier topology to achieve efficiency levels of over 90%. The modules accept a wide input voltage range of 36VDC to 75VDC, with an excellent thermal performance and derating enabling them to operate with full-rated power at their maximum 85ºC operating temperature with only moderate airflow. Minimum operating temperature is -40ºC.

Compact overall dimensions of 58.4mm x 22.9mm and a low profile of just 10.16mm allow the UCE series to be incorporated in designs where space is limited. Typical applications include distributed power architectures, servers, plus telecoms, wireless and information technology equipment.

UCE series DC/DC Converters are RoHS compliant and fully protected against input over/undervoltage, output overcurrent and short-circuit. An on-board temperature sensor shuts down the converter if thermal limits are reached; output protection automatically restarts the converter when the fault is removed. A remote on/off control input enables phased start-up and shutdown in multi-voltage applications, as well as standby operation which provides power savings. Output trim and sense functions are also provided.
The UCE series has UL/EN/IEC 60950 safety approvals and has been subjected to EMI testing performed to widely accepted EMC standards.
