The SiC46X from Vishay is a family of wide input voltage high efficiency synchronous buck regulators with integrated high side and low side power MOSFETs. Its power stage is capable of supplying high continuous current at 2MHz switching frequency. The regulators are available from Rutronik.

The regulators produce an adjustable output voltage down to 0.8V from 4.5V to 60V input rail to accommodate a variety of applications, including computing, consumer electronics, telecom and industrial.

Within the regular operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, they grant an output voltage accuracy of +/-1%.

SiC46X’s architecture delivers ultrafast transient response with minimum output capacitance and tight ripple regulation at very light load. The devices are stable with any capacitor and no external ESR network is required for loop stability.

They also incorporate a power saving scheme that significantly increases light load efficiency.

The regulators integrate a full protection feature set, including over current protection (OCP), output overvoltage protection (OVP), short circuit protection (SCP), output undervoltage protection (UVP) and thermal shutdown (OTP).

It also has UVLO for input rail and a user programmable soft start.

Developers can choose from three modes of operation: forced continuous conduction, power save or ultrasonic. With an adjustable switching frequency from 100kHz to 2 MHz and an adjustable current limit, the SiC46X family is highly configurable.

The SiC46X family is available at rutronik24.com in 2A, 4A, 6A, 10A pin compatible 5mm by 5mm lead (Pb)-free power enhanced MLP55-27L package. To support the design process, Vishay offers the PowerCAD online design simulation
