Avnet Abacus is bringing its portfolio of power technologies together online with the launch of the Avnet Abacus Power microsite. Engineers developing and designing new power projects will have direct access to a comprehensive array of power based solutions.

With the advent of the EU EcoDesign Directive, which targets a 20% reduction in energy consumption by 2020, the Abacus Avnet Power microsite is an invaluable resource for design engineers. The site provides full details of the range of power products and leading suppliers. It also offers an ‘Ask an Expert’ facility putting customers in direct touch with the company’s team of power specialists based across Europe.

Alan Jermyn, Vice President of Marketing, Avnet Abacus commented, “Our technical expertise across many market sectors such as industrial, medical, lighting, instrumentation and the consumer industries helps to ensure that we are well equipped to support our customers with their power designs. At Avnet Abacus we understand that every application is unique with specific requirements regarding electrical specification, industry regulations, product usage, reliability and component availability. The power microsite will provide engineers with an essential tool to assist power systems development across many target applications and markets.”

The Avnet Abacus power microsite includes a legislation section, covering the EcoDesign initiative and the batteries directive. This will be updated and extended with new regulations as they emerge. Alongside, it presents a full portfolio of products and technologies including filters, magnetics, AC/DC power supplies, DC/DC converters, point of load regulators, digital power, batteries and custom power supply design. The latest Avnet Abacus power products brochure can also be downloaded from the site.
