Murata Power Solutions has introduced its CEF400-112C series, a new 400W, single output AC/DC switching power supply for distributed power architecture (DPA) applications requiring reliable 12V bulk power. This active power-factor-corrected (PFC) power supply features an integral fan enabling it to deliver 400W of continuous power in a low-profile 1U package without the need for additional external airflow.
The IEC EN61000-3-2 compliant power supply accepts a universal input voltage range of 85 to 264VAC or 120 to 300VDC. In addition to its main 12V output, the CEF400-112C also features an ‘always on’ 5V auxiliary output for applications that require standby operation. A built-in OR-ing FET enables current sharing for N+1 redundancy and fault-tolerant applications.
The compact high-power-density design incorporates a number of important monitoring and control features such as AC power fail, DC power good, remote on/off, remote sense, and droop current share. Status and control can alternately be accomplished through the I/O pins or the integral I2C interface. Standard safety features include over-voltage, over-current, and thermal overload protection.

Overall dimensions of the RoHS compliant CEF400-112C are 101.6mm (4.0) x 177.8mm (7.0) x 40.4mm (1.59). Operating temperature range is 0ºC to +50ºC, and calculated mean time before failure (MTBF) is 293,000 hours (at 25ºC ambient, 120VAC input and 100% load).
