Torex introduce 18V synchronous PWM buck DC-DC converter
Torex Semiconductor has today introduced a new series of synchronous step-down DC-DC converters. Featuring two integrated N-ch driver Transistors and a bootstrap configuration, the new XC9248 series has an input voltage range from 4.5V to 18V and the maximum output current is 2.2A. The XC9248 utilises a fixed PWM control method for high efficiency which also generates low levels of output ripple.
IGBT-driver cores target 10 to 75 kVA inverters and servo drives
CT-Concept Technologie has today announced the launch of a new IGBT-driver core designed to suit inverters operating in the power range from 10-75 kVA. The new dual-channel 2SC0106T drivers simplify the design process and provide a cost-effective, high-performance alternative to competing designs based on discrete components and optocouplers.
Dual-channel 4.5 kV IGBT-driver with transformer-based signal interface
CT-Concept Technologie has launched a new dual-channel IGBT-driver core which can handle voltages of up to 4.5 kV. Featuring transformer-based signal isolation - rather than more expensive fibre-optic technology - and an on-board power supply, the new 2SC0635T units are cost-effective, compact and reliable.
Linear announce complete power management IC solution for portable processors
Linear Technology introduce the LTC3676 and LTC3676-1, complete PMIC power management solutions for portable processors including Freescale’s i.MX6 series, PXA, OMAP, ARM Cortex and other advanced portable microprocessor-based systems. The LTC3676 and LTC3676-1 contain four synchronous step-down DC-DC converters for core, memory, I/O and system on-chip rails plus three 300mA low dropout regulators for low noise analog supplies, with dynamic...
Touchstone's dual output boost regulator enables years of battery life
Touchstone Semiconductor announce the TS3310 dual output boost regulator. The TS3310 consumes only 150nA of supply current. Boost regulators are traditionally the highest current consumer in a system during sleep modes. The TS3310 removes this major constraint in power budgeting and enables years of battery life from a tiny battery cell.
Alpha and Omega launch new 600V IGBTs ranging from 20A to 60A
Alpha and Omega Semiconductor release seven new products in its 600V AlphaIGBT portfolio with high efficiency Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor solutions ranging from 20A to 60A in the TO247 package. These new products are suitable for a wide variety of applications including domestic white goods (air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines), commercial HVAC systems, photovoltaic inverters, as well as industrial equipment (welding machin...
ALD announces dual high-precision monolithic N-Channel MOSFET arrays
Advanced Linear Devices announce an industry breakthrough in small signal, low power Dual MOSFET devices by expanding dynamic current range to over eight orders of magnitude. With the introduction of Dual High Drive EPAD Zero-Threshold Matched Pair, ALD provides circuit builders unprecedented flexibility to extend the operating range for sensor arrays, energy harvesting systems, low-power mobile devices and many other general purpose applications...
DDC announce high-performance 3-phase DC motor torque controller
Data Device Corporation has today announced a new 3-Phase DC motor torque controller. The PW-82530N0 is a high performance and low cost torque loop controller designed to precisely regulate the current in the motor windings of 3-phase brushless DC motors. The controller provides complementary four-quadrant operation making it ideal for applications requiring precise current regulation and/or holding torque at zero input command.
Ultra-compact MOSFETs for high-current mobile charging
Toshiba have today announced new ultra-compact MOSFETs for the switches of high-current charging circuits, including 2 cell batteries, of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. As additional functions are added to mobile devices, such as smartphones and cellular phones, tablets and notebook PCs, and as more demands are made on their batteries, efforts continue to boost charge density and to improve the user experience by significantly in...
Charge your mobile devices from a shutdown PC with ST's unique USB chips
STMicroelectronics announce that it has perfected advanced features in its latest PC USB chips that significantly reduce the environmental impact of charging mobile devices. As smartphones and media players typically connect to a PC for data exchange, users are tending also to charge their devices from PC USB ports. Indeed, the IEC universal phone-charger standard promotes USB charging by making use of the USB interface specification.
