Power management with pulse discharge capacitors
Richardson Electronics has announced it is offering Cornell Dubilier’s new high-energy storage pulse discharge capacitors. Highly customisable, Cornell Dubilier’s pulse capacitors are designed to deliver large amounts of energy in short bursts, providing excellent high-energy storage for applications with high voltage charge/discharge cycles.
Collaboration for efficient on-board electrical systems
Siemens Mobility and Infineon Technologies have jointly developed new auxiliary converters to improve the efficiency of on-board power systems using power semiconductors based on silicon carbide (SiC).
Buck-boost DC/DC converter models optimised for 24V
TDK has announced the introduction of 20A 300W rated models to the TDK Lambda brand i7C series of non-isolated DC/DC converters. The output voltage of these latest step-up and step-down converters is adjustable from eight to 24V, and they are optimised to operate from a wide range input voltage of nine to 36V. The converters transition from buck to boost mode operation without disruption in performance.
EiceDRIVER with bootstrap diodes for frequency switching
Infineon Technologies has broadened its EiceDRIVER portfolio with new 650V half-bridge and high and low side gate drivers. The new devices are based on the company’s unique silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology. They provide leading negative VS transient voltage immunity and monolithic integration of real bootstrap diodes.
Embedded motion control modules optimise power
TRINAMIC Motion Control, now part of Maxim Integrated Products, has introduced two new sets of slot type, embedded motion control modules and development tools that feature a real-time, sensor-free control technology. These complete controller/driver modules keep the motor control system’s communications traffic low by processing real-time critical functions on-board and offloading demand on the system processor.
DC/DC converters for applications in harsh conditions
The E35SE series of isolated 150W 1/8 brick DC/DC converters are available in an open frame or enclosed potted case offers a nine to 60V input range with single voltage outputs of five, 12, 24 and 48V in an industry standard footprint.
Small 100W GaN Charger Reference Design launched
GaN Systems has announced the release of what it claims is the industry’s smallest 100W dual USB-C intelligent PD GaN charger. This turnkey reference design, says GaN Systems, achieves the highest power density of any 100W charger on the market while being the smartest. The charger can balance and appropriately power a variety of plugged-in device power level combinations from a single 100W device, two devices at 65W and 30W, or t...
Compact Ka band microwave power modules for radar
TMD Technologies Limited (TMD), has introduced two new products to its advanced PTX range of Microwave Power Modules (MPMs). The new PTX8808 and PTX8811 operate in the technically challenging Ka band and are designed to meet the exacting needs of today’s Electronic Warfare (EW) and high-performance radar systems.
Lidar demonstration boards drive 220A current lasers
Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) has announced the availability of the EPC9150, a 200V, high current, pulsed-laser diode driver demonstration board. In a lidar system, used to create 3-D maps for autonomous vehicle applications, speed and accuracy of object detection is critical.
Analog efficient power ICs extend battery life
