9V interchangeable plug adapter from Phihong
Phihong has announced that the 9V adapter in its PSA05R interchangeable plug adapter series, model number PSA05R-090, is compliant with the new, more stringent ENERGY STAR® External Power Supply (EPS) Version 2.0 requirement. All of the adapters in the 5-watt series, which includes 3.3-, 5-, 9-, and 12V models, meet the requirements of the United States' Federal Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA). Ideal for use in personal electronics, including digital cameras, PDAs, and MPEG players, the PSA05R adapter series features Phihong's industry-recognized interchangeable AC plugs, which are compatible with American, European, British, and Australian electrical outlets.
We aENERGY STAR's EPS 2.0 specification went into effect November 1, 2008, and was drafted to recognize power supply products with an efficient power conversion process. All power supply products that meet or exceed the performance requirements for level V ENERGY STAR efficiency marking protocol, which corresponds to specific minimum active and no-load efficiency levels, qualify as ENERGY STAR Version 2.0-compliant.
Phihong's PSA05R-090 adapter features a fully regulated 9V output rated at 0.56A, level V ENERGY STAR efficiency compliance, 72.3% average efficiency, and a maximum no-load power consumption of 0.3W.
All of the adapters in the PSA05R series feature clip-in, field-changeable AC plugs (each sold separately), are double insulated, and feature low leakage current and Class B EMI. The adapters also feature short-circuit protection with auto restart and over-voltage protection. PSA05R adapters are rated to operate between 0o and 40o C and between 10% and 90% humidity. Additionally, all adapters in the series carry cULus, TUV, SAA, C-Tick, and CE safety approvals and markings.
Each adapter in the PSA05R series measures 2.82 inches in length by 1.77 inches in width by 1.14 inches in height. The adapters' DC cords all terminate with a 2.1mm by 5.5mm center positive standard output connector, and each unit weighs 4 ounces.
