Power-One has introduced the Aspiro 48V power system, providing shelf-based rectification, battery management, and distribution. The Aspiro power system utilizes digitally-controlled rectifiers that can adapt, without derating, to a wide range of line, load, and temperature conditions. This unique adaptive capability can significantly reduce logistics costs for service providers by enabling a one-solution worldwide deployment to power a wide range of wireline, wireless, and triple-play applications.

Bill Yeates, Power-One’s CEO, commented; “Only the Aspiro Power System offers competitive power densities without performance deratings from -40 to +65°C and across an AC input range of 84 to 300V. In addition, our digitized control and resonant-switching techniques have reduced component count by 40%, increasing reliability and further reducing total cost of ownership for communications service providers. This impressive product extends Power-One’s digital power leadership, established with our revolutionary Z-One board-level products, to site-level solutions.”

The universal applications appeal of this product is also enhanced by a 300mm deep ETSI form factor with 1 and 2 RU height options, NEBS level-3 compliance, Class B EMC, and hardwired ETSI or IEC 320 AC connectors. Distribution options include up to twelve circuit breakers, configurable by distribution and battery, or ten GMT fuses and optional low voltage disconnects.

With 90% efficiency and 14.4W/in3 (849kW/M3) power density, the 800-watt XR08.48 rectifier can deliver 3200 watts from a 1U shelf. A 400-watt XR04.48 rectifier shares the same 4” x 1.6” x 9” (101.62 x 40.6 x 228.5mm) form factor as the 800-watt product; reducing initial costs for lower-power systems and simplifying migration paths when more power is needed. Please contact Power-One to receive pricing and availability for a Aspiro Power System configured to your requirements.

The Aspiro DC power system is ideal solution in challenging network deployments requiring a compact, dense footprint such as DSLAM’s, Cellular and Wimax Base Stations and in the enterprise.
