Vishay released a new surface-mount series of high-precision, high-stability metal film resistors in the 2012 and 4527 case sizes. For excellent stability across a range of environmental conditions, the PSF resistors feature extremely low temperature coefficients down to ± 5 ppm/°C and tight tolerances to 0.01 %.
Offering circuit designers a surface-mount version of Vishay's axial-leaded PTF series, the PSF devices are optimized for high-precision applications in precision test and measurement systems and in military, aerospace, and industrial equipment and instrumentation.

Measuring 0.200 in. by 0.125 in. [5.08 mm by 3.18 mm] with a 0.096 in. [2.44 mm] profile, the PSF2012 offers a 0.125 W power rating and 200 V working voltage. The PSF4527 measures 0.455 in. by 0.275 in. [11.56 mm by 6.98 mm] with a 0.167 in. [4.24 mm] profile and features a 0.25 W power rating and 300 V working voltage.

The device offers compliant wraparound terminations that eliminate the risk of solder fillet cracking due to differences in coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), as well as a rugged molded encapsulation to optimize performance in harsh environments. The resistors operate over a temperature range of – 55 °C to + 150 °C.
