Vishay introduced the industry's first green, RoHS-compliant (without any exemptions) thick film rectangular chip resistor. Offering a completely lead (Pb)-free resistor body with pure tin solder contacts and a metal glaze on a high-quality ceramic, the RCG e3 is AEC-Q200 qualified and provides stability of 1 % for 1,000 hours at + 70 °C in three case sizes.
Currently, Exemption #5 in the RoHS compliance procedure allows for lead (Pb) in the resistor body. However, to provide an environmental protection level above the current RoHS requirements, designers need to utilize green, RoHS-compliant products without any exemption. The RCG e3 allows designers to meet the tough demand for completely lead (Pb)-free thick film resistors in consumer, computer, automotive, industrial, and telecom equipment.

Available in the 0603, 0805, and 1206 case sizes, the RCG e3 offers TCR of ± 100 ppm/K and ± 200 ppm/K, a resistance range from 1 Ω to 10 MΩ and 0 Ω jumper, and resistance tolerance of ± 1 % and ± 5 %. The device features rated power dissipation from 0.100 W to 0.250 W and an operating voltage range of 75 V to 200 V.
