Designed for high-power, surface-mount RF applications, the RCP series of thick film chip resistors from Vishay Intertechnology is now available in the compact 0505, 0603 and 2512 case sizes. The devices offer very high thermal conductivity for power ratings up to 22W with active temperature control.

Optimised for many applications in the automotive, aerospace, military, industrial and telecomms markets, the RCP series resistors feature a stable thick film resistive element on an aluminium nitride substrate and an epoxy encapsulation. In addition to the new case sizes, the existing 1206 case has been enhanced to offer a rating of 2.4W with a standard board mount. The devices feature an operating temperature range from -55 to +155°C.

RCP series resistors offer a resistance range from 10Ω to 2kΩ, tolerance of ±2 and ±5% and TCR of ±100ppm/°C. For improved solderability, the devices are available with tin/lead and lead-free wraparound terminations over a nickel barrier. The resistors are compliant with RoHS directive 2011/65/EU and halogen-free according to the JEDEC JS709A definition.

Samples and production quantities of the RCP resistors are available now, with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders.
