In applications such as uninterruptible power supplies, HVAC, smart meters, power inverters, and three phase AC/DC power supplies, high voltage AC power lines require robust overcurrent protection - the kind that high voltage AC fuses can deliver. Circuit designers now have a new, compact, fast-acting option for these applications.

In this short video, global provider of circuit protection with advancing platforms in power control and sensor technologies, Littelfuse, explains this option.

The 514 series 500VAC ceramic body fuse offers current ratings from 1.6-12.5A and an interrupt rating of 5,000A at 500VAC. As a result, they are suitable for high voltage AC power line protection.

Their robust design enhances reliability, reducing susceptibility to temperature cycling and vibration effects. A wide operating temperature range (-55 to 125°C) ensures reliable protection in extreme temperatures and harsh environments.

Their compact footprint allows circuit designers to free up board space that would otherwise be needed for protecting components.

The 514 series fuse is designed for high energy and power efficient applications in the home and building automation markets, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. Industrial markets include three phase power supplies and renewable energy.

When used for short circuit protection, 514 series provide robust overcurrent protection in extreme adverse conditions.

The 514 series fuse is a 6x32mm 500VAC ceramic body fuse with current ratings from 1.6-12.5A. It is ideally suited for AC power over-current protection in HVAC, smart meters, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), and Three-Phase Power Supplies, and so on. This series fuse is RoHS compliant and 100% Pb free.
