The CB series SMD film capacitors from AVX are available in metallised polyphenylene sulphide (PPS), metallised polyethylene terephthalate (PET-HT), and metallised polyethylene naphthalate (PEN).

The capacitors are in stock at distributor Digi-Key.

The pen dielectric SMD film capacitors use a stacked and naked construction with metallised PEN.

They are available in case sizes from 1206 to 6054 and capacitance values up to 4.7 µF and are suitable for applications where the voltage requirement is below 630 V and SMD is mandatory.

The self-healing property of the PEN film provides an open failure mode with increased overall reliability.

PEN film capacitors provide low DC bias and low dielectric absorption like NPO multilayer ceramic capacitors but are able to provide increased capacitance values similar to X7R ceramic capacitors.

The PEN capacitors exhibit excellent thermal shock resistance.

Using high-temperature dielectric film (PEN) makes these capacitors suitable for IR or vapour phase reflow.

Customised designs are available on request.

The PET-HT dielectric SMD film capacitor use a stacked and naked construction with metallised PET-HT.

These capacitors are available in case sizes from 2220 to 6054 and capacitance values up to 4.7 µF and are suitable for applications where the voltage requirement is below 630 V and SMD is mandatory.

The self-healing property of the PET-HT film provides an open failure mode with increased overall reliability and provide low DC bias. PET-HT capacitors exhibit excellent thermal shock resistance.

The use of high-temperature dielectric film PET-HT makes these capacitors suitable for IR or vapour phase reflow.

Customised designs available on request.

The PPS dielectric SMD film capacitor use a stacked and naked construction with metallised polyphenylene sulphide PPS.

These capacitors are available in case sizes from 1206 to 1812 and capacitance values from 1 nF up to 180 nF and are suitable for applications where the voltage requirement is below 50 V and SMD is mandatory.
