Murata has announced the latest addition to its EMIFIL range of tiny common mode choke coils, the DLP11SA101HL2. The coil is designed to minimise electromagnetic interference (EMI) in HDMI and similar high speed differential signal lines, and features a high 6GHz cut-off frequency, making it ideal for use in 1080p applications. Its small (1.25x1x.82mm) 0504 size case and industry leading specification enables board space to be freed up without degrading performance or signal integrity.
The popularity and ubiquity of HDMI in A/V equipment, particularly TVs, is driving developments in EMI filter technology. The new EMIFIL coil uses a combination of Murata’s proprietary ceramic materials, inner electrode design and process technologies to deliver impeccable signal integrity with line impedance matching (100 ohms), as well as the required high cut-off frequency.

The DLP11SA101SL2 weighs just 0.005g and has a 100M ohm insulation resistance, a rated voltage of 5Vdc and a withstand voltage of 12.5Vdc. The coil’s operational temperature is -40 to 85 degrees (C).
