Littelfuse has introduced a series of AEC-Q101 qualified TVS diodes designed to protect sensitive automotive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by load dump and other events. The TPSMF4L series diodes offer 400W of peak pulse power dissipation in a compact, surface mount, flat-lead SOD-123FL plastic package with a low profile of just 0.98mm.

TPSMF4L series TVS diodes are best-suited for DC power protection and ESD protection in automotive electronics, such as electronic control units, sensors, entertainment systems and Body Control Modules (BCMs), and for portable devices that require high reliability, such as hard drives, notebooks, VCC busses, POS terminals, SSDs, power supplies, monitors and other consumer applications.

Charlie Cai, Product Manager, TPSMF4L series TVS diode line, Littelfuse, commented: “The TPSMF4L series brings a unique combination of advantages to automotive electronics protection. In addition to its AED-Q101 qualification, it offers circuit designers a very small footprint, a low height profile, and high power rating of 400W, so it’s ideal for applications that require lots of protection in a small space.”

Standard voltage ranges from 5 to 85V are available, so designers can easily choose the most suitable part for their design and applications. Additionally, the diodes comply with 61000-4-2 and IEC 61000-4-4 standards to help circuit designers meet global regulatory standards.

TPSMF4L series TVS diodes are and sold in quantities of 3,000 in tape and reel (8mm tape/7” reel) packaging. Sample requests can be placed through authorised Littelfuse distributors worldwide.
