Schaffner is expanding the already successful range of current compensated EMC correcting chokes. Horizontal and vertical mounting options are available with additional inductance values for currents between 0.3-10A. The new RN series is now rated up to 300VAC and the extended product range enables electronic design engineers to optimise their EMC/EMI solutions for performance and PCB layout.

RN dual common-mode chokes are available over the inductance range 0.4-100mH with rated currents from 0.3-10A and operate over the frequency range DC to 50/60Hz and offer 100kHz to 3MHz common-mode resonance frequencies. Multiple PCB-mounting options may be specified. The new higher temperature rating offers easier design with an ambient temperature rated at 60°C.

The range and design of the new Schaffner RN chokes means they can be designed into circuit boards of a large number of power electronic devices used for a wide range of applications, including switch mode power supplies and converters, inverters, battery management systems, chargers, dimmers or phase angle control devices.

Holger Urban, Product Marketing Manager of Schaffner, commented: “With this highly flexible extended product portfolio we are offering a wide range of current and inductance ratings and mounting options. Designers can be assured of finding the best technical solution for their application in a faster and easier way and create reliable designs without any compromises.”

Schaffner RN series chokes fully comply with the requirements of RoHS and REACH and are certified with international safety agency approvals including UL and ENEC.
