Designed to provide higher thermal performance, UV LEDs have been released by Intelligent LED Solutions (ILS). Available in output powers from 320 to 7000mW, the LEDs ensure reliable operation at higher temperatures. The LEDs, which are offered in wavelength options from 365nm to 420nm, are suitable for demanding industrial applications such as polymer curing, ink curing and counterfeit detection.

The UV LEDs are also suitable for use in aquarium lighting and medical and DNA sequencing. Providing improvements in optical output and high thermal conductivity, the UV LEDs feature a vertical chip structure on a patented metal alloy substrate. RS Components are offering star boards with wires, strips and component LEDs to allow customers to evaluate and prototype ILS' UV LEDs.

Adrian Amor, Director, ILS, said: “UV LED technology is playing an increasing role in industrial design. The high power UV LED range pushes the boundaries of what is possible. The high power LED offers a more efficient and more robust solution for engineers working to develop demanding applications that require a UV light source.”

“For those exploring UV LED technology for the first time, our team at ILS are able to provide design support and prototyping within the European market place. We also have the capability to deliver production LED and assemblies to wherever in the world that the customer’s manufacturing or assembly is being undertaken,” added Amor.
