Cree Europe has announced the latest addition to its industry-leading LED roadway lighting XSP Series with the launch of the new XSPM luminaire. The new street light is tailored to meet the demands of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) market, and expands Cree Europe’s XSP Series family with increased lumen output performance, lower wattage and more advanced control options.

With its traditional streetlight design the XSPM blends with urban and residential settings, keeping roads, walkways and car parks well-lit for enhanced safety and comfort.

Utilising Cree technology, the XSPM luminaire offers leading product quality and efficiency with a new fixture design and integrated thermal management system for higher efficacy that helps ensure a lifetime of over 100.000 hours.

The new luminaire brings new control options to the XSP family, including the autonomous adjustment of flux light levels depending on the time of day, and the option to remotely manage each luminaire with a wireless connection.

The luminaire is also designed to be fully compatible with complementary, intelligent technologies. As more urban centers adopt ‘smart city’ technology, the XSPM can be equipped with a standard NEMA Socket, making it compatible with additional sensors for future intelligent lighting applications and improving on the series’ earlier XSPR-HO model.

Featuring advanced Cree LED technology, the XSPM offers state-of-the-art control capabilities and exceptional energy efficiency and performance. Equipped with Cree’s NanoOptic Precision Delivery Grid optic system, XSPM achieves better optical control than traditional street lighting fixtures, and efficiently delivers white uniform light that keeps pedestrians and drivers visible and safe at night.

The launch of the XSPM aligns with Cree’s commitment to expand and improve its product offering and client services in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. By localising the design and production of the XSPM, Cree can ensure quicker customisation, better quality and shorter lead-times, as well as reduced costs for its customers, while still delivering a market-leading product.

Nick Farraway, Cree EMEA Vice President, said: “Being close to our clients, and understanding that their needs are absolutely essential to our business, we are focused on releasing more products that are designed in and for the EMEA market – both in terms of aesthetics and lighting specifications.”

“By manufacturing them entirely at our facility in Italy, we can guarantee more robust customer service for our European and international clients, as well as a bespoke ‘Made in Europe’ range.”
