GlacialTech announces a square heatsink using cold forging technology rated for 30W LEDs. The Igloo FS125S measures 125mm square and 25mm in depth, is made out of anodized AL1070 aluminum and uses a pin fin design for optimal heat dissipation.

Besides the Igloo FS125S itself, GlacialTech is also launching an LED luminaire semi-knocked down kit which lets lighting manufacturers and integrators easily create rugged IP66 rated lighting products using the CoB LED of their choice.

Produced with cold forging technology, the Igloo FS125S uses a pin fin heatsink design for maximum surface area and optimal thermal performance in a given volume. With highly conductive AL1070 aluminum, the Igloo FS125S’s exterior fins direct fresh air into the inner round pins which generate turbulence, increasing thermal conductivity of the heatsink. An anodized surface treatment gives the aluminum Igloo FS125S superior corrosion resistance, scratch resistance and heat tolerance.

The Igloo FS125S features a semi-knocked down (SKD) including an IP66 rated LED driver for either AC or DC current, an outdoor-ready LED housing with stainless steel mounting bracket, and a LED lens. Rather than having to find an appropriate driver, housing and heatsink combination, the Igloo FS125S heatsink with SKD kit provides everything a lighting designer or manufacturer needs to create a complete lighting fixture around their chosen CoB LED.

The Igloo FS125S SKD kit provides an easy to assemble LED lighting solution but the flexibility to customize lighting output and quality based on the end user application. The LED driver can be chosen to support 15W AC or DC current, or 35W AC current for a range of power sources and LED outputs. The base plate of the LED can be ordered with customised mounting holes to accommodate secondary optics to match the desired customer use case - flood light, spot light, track lighting, or more.
