The latest industrial camera generation USB 3 uEye CP from IDS is now available with the CMOS sensors PYTHON 500, PYTHON 2000 and PYTHON 5000 from ON Semiconductor. In addition to the fully-established PYTHON 1300, IDS Imaging Development Systems offers three more members of the sensor series. The sensors are designed to provide high-speed, reaching more than 1,000 fps with AOI feature.

The global shutter sensors of the PYTHON series are available as colour or monochrome version. They include large and light-sensitive pixels with 4.8µm. Using the special AOI (Area of Interest) feature with horizontal and vertical read-out, the combination of USB 3 uEye CP camera from IDS and ON Semiconductor sensor reaches a top speed of more than 1,000fps.

The UI-3130CP model with the PYTHON 500 sensor is IDS’ fastest camera in the optical class below 1MP, providing more than 560fps in full resolution (0.5 MP, 800 x 600 pixels). It is especially suitable for slow motion or high speed tracking applications.

The UI-3140CP model convinces with its EMVA1288 technical values: due to low noise it is very well suited for machine vision applications. A dynamic range of 57.5dB ensures high-contrast images. The 1/2'' sensor format and the resolution of 1.3MP (1280 x 1024 pixels, 169fps) are quite common in the market. They are used for a variety of inspection and quality assurance applications and are suitable for cost-effective C-Mount lenses.

Providing a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels (2.3 MP), the UI-3160CP with the PYTHON 2000 is designed for use with Full HD (>180fps), which meets the need of both classical industrial applications and visualisation tasks. If required a change to the 4:3 format (1600 x 1200 pixels), that is common in the field of medical technology, is easily possible.

In the field of 1''-sized sensors, the new UI-3180CP with the PYTHON 5000 sets marks: it is the highest resolution camera in this optical class (5 MP) with global shutter, providing 5.3 MP (2592 x 2048 pixels, 68 fps). For different user’s requirements, both the square 2K x 2K format and Full HD is available. The combination of size and number of pixels makes it ideal for use in the field of microscopy, especially eye inspection applications which benefit from switching between AOI and full resolution.
