Power management company Eaton has announced two additions to its range of highly efficient LED luminaires for commercial and public buildings. The Caius LED, a decorative wall luminaire and the Wavelite LED, a linear luminaire for ceilings, are designed to provide optimal lighting for offices, leisure facilities and retail premises that is also cost effective, energy efficient and extremely flexible in terms of installation.

“LED lighting technology has matured to the point where it is now a compelling option for a wide range of environments thanks to its impressive output, reduced energy consumption and ease of fitting and maintenance,” said Andy Gallacher, lighting product manager at Eaton.

Caius combines contemporary looks with a high output LED light source, minimizing the required number of installation points. Its optional ability to serve as a fully compliant luminaire for emergency purposes, offering up to three hours of operation, makes it a highly efficient way of maintaining a compliant lighting design.

An optional DALI/DSI corridor control function is also available, using local detection functionality to activate the luminaires in sequence, where comfort, wayfinding and safety are key considerations. The corridor function is activated by an optional built in microwave detector or by linking to remotely mounted devices.

In addition to the existing Wavelite family of luminaires, an LED version is now available. The Wavelite LED is available in three standard lengths for a wide range of new and retro-fit applications where a cost-effective direct surface-mounted or suspended solution is required.

It is available in 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8m lengths, with slim and attractive housing that incorporates a robust opal diffuser, enabling the luminaire to blend into a broad range of environments. The presence of impact resistance and tooled access, makes the Wavelite LED especially suitable for public spaces where anti-tamper protection is a key consideration.

The versatility of the Wavelite LED is enhanced by the ability for buyers to select integrated lighting control and emergency options. With lighting control, energy savings can be maximised alongside user comfort, while the emergency option allows for three-hour combined non-maintained operation to ensure maximum security and safety of a building’s occupants.

Gallacher added: “Our latest Caius and Wavelite LED luminaires are the result of significant research and development conducted by a company whose expertise in lighting has earned the trust of an entire community of building owners, managers, specifiers, distributors and installers. They have been designed with all of these stakeholders in mind to provide a lighting solution that works on many levels.”
