Aquaculture fish light helps to optimise growth results
Signify has announced its latest innovation in aquaculture LED lighting. The company launched the new Philips Seacage 340W fish light which helps to optimise growth results for land- and marine-based cultivation of salmon and also shows proven results for other fast-growing fish species like seabass and seabream. The light distribution helps to prevent exposure to sea lice, reducing treatment up to 50%.
Optical fusion splicer and fibre optic cleaver for FTTx
LASER COMPONENTS has announced the FSP200 Optical Fusion Splicer with core alignment technology and the FCL200 Optical Fibre Cleaver with auto-end cut collection, made by our manufacturing partner Tempo Communications and now available for our customers.
Software to improve temperature screening for COVID-19
FLIR Systems has announced the FLIR Screen-EST software for FLIR T-Series, Exx-Series, and A-Series thermal imaging cameras. The software provides automatic measurement tools that perform elevated skin temperature screenings of individuals in two seconds or less at entries, checkpoints, and other high traffic areas while maintaining recommended social distancing guidelines.
Optical filter for quantitative polymerase chain reaction
Optical filters play a crucial role in detecting the corona pathogen SARS CoV 2. With the expanded Ultra series, LASER COMPONENTS now offers optical filters that were specifically developed for real-time qPCR tests for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Patient samples can thus be analyzed faster and more efficiently.
LED driver IC gives design freedom in low current strips
Infineon Technologies releases the BCR431U. The constant current linear LED driver IC provides low-voltage drop performance for regulating LED current. It is the second device released in the new generation BCR family with low voltage drop focusing on low current designs of up to 37mA.
Fibre optic tool kit: installations and maintenance
LASER COMPONENTS has announced the release of a Fibre optic tool tit. This new product is produced by LASER COMPONENTS’ manufacturing partner Tempo Communications (formerly Greenlee Communications).
FLIR Systems installs EST screening solution at Pentagon
FLIR Systems has announced it has installed its EST screening system at the Pentagon Visitor Center in Washington, D.C. The company’s integrated EST screening solution, the A700 EST-IS, features the FLIR A700 thermal imaging camera. The system is being used to screen visitors for elevated or higher than expected skin temperatures, which can help guard against the spread of COVID-19.
Powering adoption of efficient LED streetlamps
Accelerating the creation of LED streetlamps and other medium- to high-power lighting applications, the STMicroelectronics EVL150W-HVSL LED-driver evaluation board and reference design integrates features that ensure high performance and save bill-of-materials (BOM) costs.
Goodlight LED lighting delivers energy savings
Goodlight has completed an installation of its GX1 LED High Bays into European Glass Group’s production facility in Stockport, Greater Manchester, delivering energy savings of 70%.
IQFROG measures ultrashort pulses in spectral domains
LASER COMPONENTS has introduced the IQFROG to measure the pulse intensity and phase in both the spectral and temporal domains, yielding a complete pulse characterisation. The IQFROG has a built-in high-resolution spectrometer with a long delay arm which enables measurement of a wide range of optical pulse lengths from 300fs, up to 50ps for chirped pulses.
