The IoT starter kit C-Control 10 just released by Conrad was developed in collaboration with Elco Industrie Automation and Microtronics. The kit simplifies entry into the Internet of Things (IoT) market, Industry 4.0, and digitisation for enterprises and developers.

It consists of the IoT board, an integrated M2M SIM, several sensors, general purpose analogue and digital inputs, USB, SPI, UART, I2C and GPIO as well as a Bluetooth interface.

In addition to an optional temperature recording, any sensors and actuators can be connected to the board.

Data will be transferred to the Conrad Connect platform via GSM, which makes it accessible from the cloud.

This allows for simple and cost-effective entry into M2M applications, even without mobile phone communication expertise.

The functionality ranges from monitoring and diagnostics to maintenance and entire automation applications.

The small 39 x 32 x 6mm module has its own operating system and is ready for immediate use. User applications can be designed immediately using readily available tools.

Data transmission is AES-encrypted and with server authentication. The GSM module is implemented as an ultra-low power version to save energy.

A LiPo battery with 520mAh serves as the power supply, which makes the box suitable for mobile use.

The 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 based MCU supports low-power operation.

The purpose of the board is for testing IoT concepts. For commercial implementation, Conrad Connect and Elco also offer a broad M2M portfolio.

The platform c-control.elco-automation is available for programming, managing and monitoring the IoT starter kit C-Control 10.

Conrad supports users with C-Consulting and the creation of proof of concepts.
