Marvell has announced that it will incorporate Microsemi's PoE Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) offering into its turnkey manufacture-ready reference designs, bundled with software solutions. The combined technologies from Marvell and Microsemi will enable a large range of IoT and other connected network applications including wireless access points, 4G/LTE small cells, sensors, IP cameras and lighting.
Smart home IoT portfolio allows standard interoperability
MediaTek has launched the MT7623 and MT7683 premium Quad-core CA7 platforms, which support 4x4 11ac retail and broadband routers, IoT gateway, WiFi hotspots, and media routers using Linux, OpenWrt for seamless multi-platform connection and user experience. Also released was the MT7687 low-power WiFi SoC that allows home appliances and smart devices to connect to and be controlled through a home network.
Toshiba & Microsoft to collaborate on IoT development
Toshiba Corporation and Microsoft Corporation have announced that the two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly develop solutions for the IoT. Leveraging Toshiba’s innovative IoT devices with Microsoft’s Azure IoT Cloud infrastructure, Toshiba will deliver state of the art sensor-data-driven applications in various market segments starting in calendar year 2015.
