IZT has launched a new scalable multi-channel RF receiver system for direction finding (DF) systems. The IZT R3600 offers up to five channels with 24 MHz instantaneous bandwidth each and covers the frequency range from 9 kHz to 3 GHz or even 6 GHz. The innovative multi-channel receiver system enables users to combine direction finding and monitoring by using free channels as individual monitoring channels.

Two new RFID reader chips from austriamicrosystems combine low-power operation, small size and low cost to offer an attractive route to RFID implementation in embedded, portable and consumer devices. The AS3993 is an EPC Class 1 Gen 2 RFID reader IC which implements all the relevant protocols, including ISO 18000-6C, the ISO 29143 air-interface protocol for mobile RFID interrogators, and ISO 18000-6A/B (for operation in direct mode).

High Linearity Downconverting Mixer Covers 4-6GHz RF Frequency Range
Linear Technology announces the LTC5544, a 4GHz to 6GHz high dynamic range downconverting mixer. The LTC5544 mixer offers high linearity with 25.9dBm IIP3 (Input Third-Order Intercept), high conversion gain of 7.4dB owing to its integrated IF amplifier, and a noise figure of 11.3dB. These performance characteristics enable excellent dynamic range performance for both main receivers and digital pre-distortion receivers.

RFMD’s new RF3688 is a single-chip dual-band front end module (FEM) for high performance WiFi applications in the 2.5GHz and 5GHz ISM bands.
