Pickering Electronics have released a new high-voltage, long-life, dry reed relay, in its Series 67 range.

The components are in stock at distributor Anglia Components.

The Series 67 is now the highest rated power reed relay from Pickering, the new introduction to the range has a stand-off voltage up to 8kV, is capable of 6kV switching, switching current up to 3A, max. carry current of 5A and a power rating of 200W.

Constructed with a Single-in-Line (SIL) lead frame, the reed relay features a smaller package than usual due to its former-less coils. The compact SIL package style opens up interesting high density stacking possibilities. Added to all this innovation, long-life tungsten contacts enable the Series 67 to be used highly reliably, in high-performance applications.

The new addition to the Series 67 relays feature PCB connections to both switch and coil and are available with 1 Form A (SPST) switch configuration and 5, 12 and 24V coil options.

The Series 67 relays feature mu-metal magnetic screens as standard to prevent magnetic field interaction with other nearby components, they can be specified with an optional internal back EMF diode for the coil and have a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to +85°C.

The Series 67 relays are suitable for a range of applications including high voltage applications such as electrosolar and cable testing.
