Now available from specialist distributor of electronic components, TTI, the new IP67-sealed model in the C&K K12S Series of switches is suitable for outdoor applications such as automotive door locks, boot openers, motorcycle handles and similar harsh environment uses including agricultural machinery and vehicles and off-road transportation.

The K12S Series has a unique design that separates the electrical and mechanical functions of the switch for longevity and robustness and is available in Single, Pole, Single Throw (SPST) versions and Dual-Pole, Dual Throw (DPDT) versions. The latter meet all safety standards for demanding applications in medical, military, avionics and industrial equipment.

The K12S Series features gold-plated, self-cleaning contacts with low contact resistance (less than 100mΩ), 100N overload resistance. They have double-step actuation and are extremely robust, with a life cycle of one million actuations. These switches are low-profile when mounted on the PCB, simplifying integration into the design of complex sub-assemblies needing precise control, for example, joysticks, remote controls, vehicle cabins and forklift truck and crane controls. Additional features of the K12S Series include compatibility with the SMT lead-free soldering process.

The K12S Series switches are illuminated, with a total travel of 1.5mm and a choice of operating forces - 3N; 3,5N; 5N; 6N; 9N 4/8 N; 6/12 N. A IP40 version is also available. They are supplied on reels of 900 pieces.
