Sub-miniature toggle switch saves panel and PCB space
A range of sub-miniature toggle switches, the Salecom TS40-T is available at distributor JPR Electronics. This compact switch offers designers space savings on PCB layouts and reductions in control panel size. The TS40-T switches are available in horizontal and vertical styles and feature gold plated terminal pins on a standard 2.54mm pitch for direct PCB mounting.
The vital role of switches in making Industry 4.0 a reality
The Internet of Things (IoT) has been anointed as the harbinger of Industry 4.0, a state in which factory automation devices are integrated within information technology (IT) platforms such as manufacturing execution systems (MES), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business intelligence (BI) systems to create significant efficiency and productivity gains.
New switch designed with an audible click
The range of switch controls from Herga Technology has been expanded with the introduction of the new 6244 series haptic puck switch. The new hand or foot operated puck (or bellows) style switch features an audible click when pressed and is aimed at machinery and equipment switching tasks where both tactile operation and audible response are essential requirements.
Reversible flow axial fans offer space efficiency
Designed to halve the numberoffans required in applications where air flow both in and out of the enclosure is required, EAO has introduced a range of bi-directional fans that provide the same high airflow performance in both directions. Adding to the Sanyo Denki portfolio of DC axial fans the new RF Series comprises two models.
Illuminated anti-vandal pushbutton receives UL approval
CIT Relay & Switch has offered a broadline of sealed illuminated anti-vandal switches. Ranging in size from 12mm up to 40mm, the styles offer ring and dot illumination, the international standby symbol or non-illuminated options. Mushroom actuators along with raised or flat actuators give the design engineer a multitude of options. IP67 sealing is standard along with a choice of body and actuator colours including stainless steel, nickel and ...
Heavy duty liquid level switch with glass sensor tip
Developer and manufacturer of fluid and gas sensing solutions, SST Sensing, has released its Optomax Industrial Glass devices which are targeted at installation within harsh industrial environments. Thanks to their stainless steel construction and glass sensor tip, these single point liquid level switches exhibit elevated operational robustness. As a result, these devices are suited to applications where they are exposed to ex...
Keyboards keep it clean in host of applications
A wide range of antimicrobial coated, easy to clean keyboards which are dishwasher safe has been introduced by Diamond Electronics. The keyboards and accessories are intended for use with clinical and home use medical systems, clean industrial applications including food processing, semiconductor manufacturing and laboratories, POS systems and public area data input and control.
Turning a pinch of salt into an electrical switch
A team of scientists from the University of Liverpool, University College London and the University of Zaragoza in Spain has discovered a way to induce and control a fundamental electrical switching behaviour on the nano-scale.
No-neutral wireless wall switches for smart-home lighting
Power Integrations has announced a new reference design, DER-622, describing a smart wall switch compatible with wiring conditions most commonly found in residential retrofit installations. Typically, smart wall switches with wireless connectivity, occupancy/vacancy sensing and/or voice control require a neutral return wire to power the unit, which is not always available in retrofit situations.
Chassis technology aids high speed data processing
The combination of data, speech and video, new wireless standards, and the high resolution images used in (U)HDTV means transmission frequencies and bandwidths are constantly increasing. Stephan Leng, Applications Engineer, Electronics Division HEITEC AG explains.
