There’s a lot to be said about maintaining the status quo. It’s safe, proven and limits risk. Unfortunately, for most things that matter - this approach just doesn’t cut it. Especially for our enterprise customers. To drive platform innovation, solve new problems, and achieve business success - now is the time to re-evaluate how things are done.

At Veritas, we have a long history of innovation. We’re proud to hold over 2,000 patents to demonstrate that. And innovation isn’t just part of our legacy, it’s in our DNA. That’s why we can’t settle for the status quo and, instead, we’re driven to build on our Enterprise Data Services Platform, which we announced last year, with new updates and features.

We created the Enterprise Data Services Platform because, now, more than ever, customers need reliability at scale, and can’t afford to take risks on isolated point solutions. We used our 30+ years of experience to bring together a platform of Availability, Protection and Insights solutions that deliver a holistic approach to data management.

But the world doesn’t stand still: data sets get bigger, cloud environments get more diverse, and new regulations continue to hit the statute books. So, today, we’re announcing new capabilities that will improve our ability to help our customers across the platform.

New updates include:

  • APTARE IT Analytics 10.4 provides organisations with holistic visibility via predictive analytics for multi-vendor backup, storage and virtual infrastructures - while bolstering support for key verticals and regions. The offering now includes new regulation support for public sector environments, as well as features key reporting engine upgrades. In addition, this solution also enables new data collection from NetBackup Appliances, Dell EMC Avamar 19.1, Dell EMC Data Domain 6.2, Dell EMC NetWorker 9.2.1, HPE Nimble, NAKIVO 9.1.1, and VMware ESXi 6.5. APTARE IT Analytics 10.4.1 also features additional supported languages including French, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
  • Backup Exec (BE) 21 helps organisations Simplify, Unify and Secure data protection. New updates now include per-instance licensing and automated license updates to streamline the user experience, while enhanced security further protect Backup Exec services from malicious code injection to guard against ransomware. BE 21 unifies data protection with day-one support for vSphere 7.0 and vSAN 7.0 to enhance virtual data protection, additional cloud regional support and broader physical support (CentOS 7.7 x64, Debian 10.0 x64, Oracle Linux 8 and 8.1, RedHat Enterprise Linux 8 and 8.1).

The latest release of Veritas SaaS Backup adds support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, aligning fully to Microsoft’s cloud strategy with protection for Azure, Dynamics 365 and Office 365. Updated roles and configuration options also help organisations tailor SaaS data protection to organisational needs.

  • eDiscovery Platform 9.5 (eDP 9.5) now features additional functionality to document classification, bulk redaction and new global reporting capabilities. Based on feedback from our customers, eDP 9.5 introduces support for all major Web browsers, while addresses the demand for legal holds and security enhancements. Customers can also leverage collection enhancements with support for Enterprise Vault 12.5, Exchange 2019 and SharePoint 2016.
  • Veritas EV.cloud now includes Veritas Advanced Supervision 2.0, bringing intelligence and analysis to data supervision for organisations targeting advanced cloud-based archiving with Microsoft Office 365 or Google Gmail for data governance. The new release also leverages machine learning to help companies streamline data searches to remain compliant. Capturing more than 40 content sources, EV.cloud is driven by a modern UI and tabbed interface for simple navigation. Key updates allow for classification-driven sampling and searching to help customers restrict relevant content from view sets and ensure that content is included in classification.

Innovation - it’s all about re-engineering the conventional, rejecting complacency and surpassing the status quo. With significant innovations across our platform - including IT infrastructure analytics, backup and recovery, eDiscovery, and archiving - Veritas makes it possible for organisations to achieve new levels of success in this data-driven world.
