AAEON have today unveiled a stainless steel embedded controller: AEC-6511. The AEC-6511 is designed for unique markets that require waterproof, dustproof and Anti-corrosion standards. Therefore, the system chassis and connectors are specially designed to fulfill these particular requirements of the vertical markets.
The AEC-6511 integrates Intel Atom N270 processor, at only PPW at 10W and utilizes the Intel 945GSE + ICH7M chipset. AEC-6511 has a DDR2 SDRAM SODIMM with a maximum of 2GB for system memory. To satisfy storage requirements, there is a CompactFlash slot and a 2.5” SATA 1.5Gb/s HDD bay. AEC-6511 has a Gigabit Ethernet port for fast networking connections. For I/O interfaces, AEC-6511 offers two USB2.0 ports, two COM ports, one power input and one power switch. Moreover, system developers are able to use the Mini card and Mini PCI for WiFi and other expansion purposes.

AAEON is the first company in the IPC industry to release a waterproof stainless steel embedded controller, says Barnabas Chen, Product Manager of AAEON’s Panel Appliance & Automation Division. With an IP67 certification, AEC-6511 has waterproof and dustproof properties that make it eligible to be used in harsh environments. Furthermore, the wide operating temperature from -20℃~ 55℃ enables the AEC-6511 to be placed outdoors. Due to the stainless steel chassis, the AEC-6511 has anti-corrosion properties that are ideal for Automated Cow Milking Machines, Food Processing, Car and Window Washing and Oil Refinery applications.

For additional flexibility, AAEON offers customization services for system developers and system integrators.
