The nRF52820 multi-protocol system-on-chip (SoC) from Nordic Semiconductor is in stock at distributor Mouser Electronics.

With support for the full suite of Bluetooth 5.2 features and other popular communications protocols, the SoC is an ideal solution for a variety of wireless Internet of Things (IoT) applications, including asset tracking, high-performance human interface device (HID) controllers, smart home products, and professional lighting.

The SoC, available from Mouser Electronics, is based on Nordic's nRF52 Series architecture and supports Bluetooth 5.2, Bluetooth Low Energy, and Bluetooth mesh, as well as Direction Finding, high-throughput 2 Mbps, and Long Range features.

The SoC also supports Thread, Zigbee, and 2.4-GHz proprietary communications technologies along with Full Speed USB 2.0 connectivity in a single-chip solution.

The ultra-low-power Arm Cortex-M4-based SoC is drop-in compatible with Nordic's nRF52833 SoC, offering a range of analogue and digital interfaces such as an analogue comparator, SPI, UART, TWI, QDEC, and Full Speed (12 Mbps) USB.

The built-in USB, fully-featured multiprotocol radio and +8 dBm output power makes the nRF52820 SoC an ideal network processor to be paired with an application microcontroller in gateways and other smart home, commercial and industrial applications requiring advanced wireless connectivity.

Mouser also stocks the Nordic nRF52833 Development Kit, based an onboard nRF52833 SoC that emulates the features of the nRF52820 SoC.

The kit offers four user-programmable buttons and LEDs, is hardware compatible with the Arduino Uno R3-based shields, and features connector pins for all inputs and outputs (I/O) and interfaces, including a dedicated connector for the included external NFC antenna.
